Referral
An introduction to a business you already have a relationship with. What you are contributing is trust that already exists, which is what the tier rates were written for. No extra conditions beyond the standard terms.
Owners, advisors, consultants, friends of the firm.
Sourced introduction
An opportunity you found through outbound prospecting, qualified, and got agreement to introduce. Legitimate work, and paid at the same tier rates. It carries conduct rules the referral lane does not, because it puts our name in messages we did not write and runs into a market we already work with our own sequences.

FAQ
What counts as a referral?
An introduction to a business you already have a relationship with. You know the owner, you have worked with them, or you sit close enough that your introduction carries weight. The test is the relationship, not whether you got permission to pass the name along.
Can I source opportunities through outbound instead?
Yes, and it is paid, but it registers as a sourced introduction rather than a referral. Outbound into a market we already work with our own sequences creates attribution conflicts and puts our name in messages we did not write, so that lane carries conduct rules the referral lane does not. Read Section 6 of the partner terms before you start.
How long does my claim last?
120 days from the day we accept your registration, extended to 180 if the opportunity is actively progressing at day 120. Attribution starts at acceptance, not at the moment you first had a conversation, so register early.
When do I get paid?
30 days after your referred client pays their first invoice. We pay on real revenue, not signed contracts. If a payout is going to be late we tell you before it is late rather than after you ask.
How is the payout calculated?
Year-one collected revenue from the engagement, times your tier rate (10, 15, or 20 percent). A $30,000 build pays $3,000 at tier 1 or $4,500 at partner tier. Collected revenue is net of refunds and excludes tax and pass-through costs like hosting, licences and ad spend.
What if two partners refer the same prospect?
First accepted registration wins. We notify the second referrer within one business day. We also decline registrations for businesses already in our CRM or contacted by our own outbound in the preceding 90 days.
Are recurring engagements paid recurring commissions?
Year one only. Retainers and managed engagements pay out on the first 12 months of collected revenue, then commission ends. There is no lifetime commission and no residual.
Can I use the Kingbird name in my outreach?
Not without written approval of the specific wording. You are an independent party, not our agent, and you may not quote prices, promise scope or commit timelines on our behalf. Pricing conversations happen with us.
Can I take part from outside the US?
Yes. Payment is in USD and we need the applicable W-8 form before a first payment. You are responsible for the lawfulness of your own outreach wherever the recipient sits, and for any registration required where you operate.
